Restaurant Ephernité is one of the pioneers of «farm to table» concept in Taiwan, where the ingredients are sourced mostly from the fringes of the city, we worked only with the fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits, which are all selected, harvest and sent directly from Mt.YangMingShan by our trusted farmer. One seating of 20 guests maximum, one tasting menu per day is served and changes depending on the local produces delivered.
We make efforts to lower the environmental shock by cultivating the vegetables locally, choosing local fruits with best tastes, and growing herbs in our own garden.
This is a small but cosy restaurant, here you can 100% enjoy dining with tranquility, a tasting menu full of chef’s inspiration and our respect to the earth. Here we also provide a large selection of French wine, including 30% of natural wine. It’s a perfect place to wine lovers and people who like to try Taiwanese local ingredients with a bit French touch.
For six consecutive years Restaurant Ephernité has been nominated as one of the best French restaurants in Taipei by French Embassy for “Good France” the international awards, and has been recommended by Taipei Michelin Guide every year since 2018.


Taiwanese Chef, Vanessa HUANG, studied filmmaking and art in France, but her strong curiosity about French gastronomy let her to the culinary program in Ferrandi Paris, School of Culinary Arts, following which she was privileged to train under chef Pascal BARBOT in Astrance, a 3 star Michelin restaurant.
In 2014, she returned to Taiwan and opened her own restaurant “Ephernité”, a concept born out of play on words marrying “ephemerality” and “eternity”.
In 2015, Business Weekly TAIWAN has described Vanessa as one of the chefs with great potential for Modern French Cuisine in Taiwan along with three other famous local chefs. That same year, in an article by French media “Omnivore World Tour FRANCE” Vanessa HUANG has been nominated together with 24 Michelin-starred chefs worldwide as one of the “Bébés BARBOT”, future culinary new stars trained by Chef Pascal BARBOT.
Chef Vanessa HUANG has been named of Asia’s Top 9 female chefs by Michelin Guide in 2019 for carving out a name for herself in a male-dominated industry.
